South Dakota JDRF Advocates meet with Senator Tim Johnson
On Oct. 24, 2011 a Promise Meeting with Senator Tim Johnson took place in Sioux Falls, SD. In attendance were Lauri Sohl, Robb McCoy, Adam Findell, Gala Woitte, John Holmquest, and Katy Morris. The advocates thanked Senator Johnson for being a supporter of the Special Diabetes Program and asked him to continue to vote for the highest amount of funding for the type 1 diabetes research at NIH. They also discussed the FDA guidance that is scheduled to be produced by December 1. The adults with type 1 diabetes in attendance discussed how diabetes has affected their lives and that an artificial pancreas would provide them a much better quality of life. Senator Johnson is an advocate for increasing healthcare technology. The advocates appreciate Senator Johnson's support of type 1 diabetes legislation and issues affecting diabetes!
