Senator Lindsey Graham (SC) with JDRF advocates on April 16
Senator Graham signing the letter recognizing the importance of the Special Diabetes Program
JDRF advocates felt that it was an honor to meet with Senator Lindsey Graham to discuss the importance of continued diabetes research. Senator Graham was interested in the difference between type 1 and type 2 diabetes and wanted to know how the artificial pancreas worked. The advocates were able to talk to him about living with type 1 and the daily struggle of high and low blood sugars. When they asked for Senator Graham's support in the renewal of the Special Diabetes Program, he said he has always supported diabetes research and would continue to do so. When the attendees told him that Friday was the last day to sign the commitment letter, he said he would sign it right then and there, and he did! Thank you Senator Graham for your support in finding a cure for type 1 diabetes.
