A Promise to Remember Me meeting took place on Friday March 2, 2012 with Representative Doc Hastings at his office in Pasco, Washington. Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) advocates in attendance were Paula Tumlinson, Ann Winkleman, Garth Major, Angie Major, Evie Major, Will Major, Luke Major, Wendy Gosselin, Katie Gosselin, Gary Ballew, Emma Ballew and Sean Ballew. All attendees have been affected by type 1 diabetes(T1D) either as parents, siblings or diagnosed with T1D. The advocates thanked Representative Doc Hastings for his past and future support of JDRF and the much needed funding that goes along with research initiatives. They spoke briefly about the hopes for an artificial pancreas and how that would eliminate the big swings in blood sugar levels. Brad Hansen, Constituent Outreach Coordinator, then kindly took pictures. The advocates are grateful for the opportunity to meet with Representative Doc Hastings and his staff and appreciate his support!
